Projections
Â
Summary:
This article documents the usage and steps to complete a Projection for flocks that are Active in your AeLive system.
Â
Â
Setup Projections for Current Flocks
Projection Reports can be created to project data for the entire life of the active flock to their sale date. Projection Reports use a combination of actual transactions and system table standards throughout the flock life cycle to calculate current and future performance.
Â
System Tables
System --> System Tables
You can use your standard system tables or create system tables specific to projections. If you do not have projection tables assigned to a flock it will use your standard system tables assigned to your flock.

Â
Â
Projection Configuration (Establishing Trends)
System --> Projection Configuration
Â
When a projection transitions between actual, projected and standard data you may see drastic changes to the data from day-to-day. Configuring and applying a projection configuration will resolve this.
Â
The projection report calculates and factors in the standard adjustment value (SAV) into projected values in order to adjust for differences between actual transnational values and system table standards.  This allows for more realistic results that are consistent with current available actuals.
Â
In order to enable the SAV, proper projection configuration settings must be applied to the flock as described below.
Â
 Details
Enter a Code, and Description to your new Projection Config and set the status as Active.
Â
Â
Tables
For each cycle and table, you can then set your adjustments and the number of days.
Â
Â
# of days: Is the amount of days you want to go back to find actual/projection data to use in determining what the adjustment should be so that it can follow the actual trend occurring in the house.
(Optimal Number of Days to Trend is 56 Days)
The calculations
To see specific information on how projections trend using standards see: Projection Trending Using Standards
Number(#) of Days: The trend will be established by comparing the standard and actual values from a number of days defined by this value. Once we are in the realm of calculating projected values, the trend will be determined by the difference between the trended value and the standard, but still for this defined number of days.
Adj+: The trended amount can be no more than this amount. If this is set to 10%, and the trend is calculated at 30%, it will be overridden with this configured value of 10%. This configuration can come in handy when we suspect inaccurate or incomplete data may skew trends to the positive. Setting this value to 100% turns the override off.
Adj-:Â The trended amount can be no less than this amount. If this is set to 5%, and the trend is calculated at -40%, it will be overridden with this configured value of -5%. This configuration can come in handy when we suspect inaccurate or incomplete data may skew trends to the negative. Setting this value to 100% turns the override off.

Assign tables and projection configuration to Flock and/or Contract
Once you have set up your tables and projection configurations you will then want to assign them to your flocks and/or contracts.
Â
To assign the projection configuration, you will go to the Defaults tab on the contract form and select the projection configuration from the drop down next to Projection Config.
Â
To assign the projection configuration to a specific flock, you will go to the Settings tab on the flock form and select the projection configuration from the drop down in the Projection Configuration section.
Â
Contract
Â
Â
Flock
Â
To assign Projection system tables to your contract or flock, you will go to the Projections/Goals tab. Here you will assign the system tables to use when calculating your projections.
Note:Â If you do not assign Projection tables, the projection calculation will default to use the system tables you have set up on the Tab Tables used for your standards.
Â
Â
Will use tables assigned here for projections, if there are any assigned.
Â
Defaults to system tables here if no tables are assigned in the projection tab.
Flock/House Adjustments
There will be times when events occur that require a group, or series of groups or farms to make adjustments to any of the system tables. For example, the weather may get very cold in the middle of winter, and Feed Consumption tables will need to be adjusted accordingly.
To make these temporary adjustments, animal managers can utilize the Table Adjustment form and globally make a change for the time period required. Several table adjustments can be applied to a house or a group, so if there is one sick flock who is also facing unexpected weather, both conditions can be accounted for.
To see more information on setting up Adjustments you can see documentation Here:Â Standard Table Adjustments
Reporting
The system has many canned projection reports that are available for your use. These reports can be modified, duplicated, and enhanced to accommodate specific requirements, and new custom projection reports can be created through Aeros LIVE that access the projections dataset.
Projection Dataset:
Â
Â
To run these reports:
Set the dates you want to see projections for.
Â
Find the report you want to run, set the parameters you want to include and run the report.
 Â
Future Flock Projections
For future Flock Projections, you will need to do the following:
Add Pending Flocks
Add a new flock as usual, apply a contract
Set Flock Status to Pending
Find your flock in the Pending Flock List
Â
Estimated Placements
Go to Estimates
On the Estimated Placements Tab, enter a new estimated placement.
You should then be able to run projection reports using future dates.
Â
Projected Depopulation
On your flock you will also want to make sure you have a projected sell date set so that the system will know when the birds will leave the house.
Future flocks should not overlap with existing flocks’ Projected Sell Date (Flock Form) OR Estimated sell/depop date (optional).
Â
Molt Defaults
Use molt defaults to project when a molt should occur
Â
Â
Â
Egg Size Projections
You can also project out Egg Sizes and Egg Types with some additional configurations
To set up projections for Egg Size, see instructions here: Egg Type/Size Projection Setup
To set up projections for Egg Type, see instructions here: Default Egg Type Scheduler (This is a new Feature that will be available in build 1.46+)
Configuration for egg sizes to be determined by Age or by Case Weight/Age.
