Feed Bins
Feed Management →Feed Bins
In the Feed Bin configuration, users can set up the size for each feed bin type, even marking off each segment size and cone size. Feed bins are assigned to each house. By assigning to a house, we can know the capacity for each house during Feed Scheduling, and prepare deliveries accordingly. Feed Bin setup is crucial for proper Feed Scheduling.
Code: Corresponding Feed Bin Code. This code must be unique.
Description: The description of the Feed Bin.
Height: The physical height of the feed bin type in U.S. or Metric measurement. This value is optional.
Segments: Some feed have segments or ring metal bands that make up the sides of the feed bin. The number of segments, excluding the cone, can be noted. The minimal value is one.
Capacity per Segment: The capacity of a single segment of the feed bin type in U.S. or Metric weight. If one segment was noted for the feed bin type, the total capacity can be applied here.
Cone Capacity: The capacity of the cone at the bottom of the feed bin type by the same weight unit of measure set on the capacity per segment. This value is optional.
Actual Capacity: This is a display only field. The number of segments will be multiplied by the capacity per segment and then the cone capacity will be added, resulting in the actual capacity of the feed bin type.
To assign bins to a house, go to the house form, Feed Bins Tab.
Override Capacity can be utilized if there is a dent in the bin and holds more or less than the actual capacity.
Status: Bin can be set to Active or Inactive. If bin is inactive, the Feed Plan will not schedule feed to that Bin.
Feed Lines can be assigned to the Feed Bins but must exist in the Feed Lines tab in house first.
