Aeros VISION Query Adding Functions to a Query

The ability to perform functions on specific columns of a results grid, adds to the flexibility of VISION Queries. VISION allows you to perform similar functions to Excel column functions.

NOTE: The functions added at the bottom of a query results grid are displayed in the Grid View Layout only. These functions do NOT carry over to a report.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Log into Vision

  2. select and run a query

  3. Beneath the query results grid is a thin gray band immediately below the results.

  4. Directly below the column requiring the function addition, right click in the gray band.

    5. The right click menu displays a list of available functions for that column. For our example, select Sum.

    6. The function will automatically calculate and display beneath column selected.

    7. By Right clicking on the newly added SUM box, you can add additional functions for the column. Below, the Count function was added.

    8. By right clicking again, one of the remaining functions can also be selected:

    9. These functions are not part of the query itself, and are part of the Grid View Layout. To save the functions to this query, click save button on the bottom to save the Grid View Layout.

    10. Selecting Min function will return the lowest value from the given column. Max function will return the highest value from the given column. On Date fields, these return earliest and latest dates. On character fields, these return lowest or highest character, alphabetically.
