Creating a Custom In List Option

Within Aeros Vision, users can create queries that can then be used in order parameters. This article describes this process.

Pre-Requisites

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Access the Queries section of Aeros Vision.
     

  2. Open the Query you wish to add an "In List" option to in design mode by clicking the pencil icon.
     

  3. In the ribbon bar, click the Optimize button.
    Click OK when complete to confirm.


  4. Click the Save button next to the Optimize button.


  5. Click Yes to also save the Query.


  6. Exit the Query designer.


  7. Under the Settings drop-down listing, select Manage Data Models / Connections.


  8. Within the list of Data Models, locate the item named "Model - {Your Query Name}" and click the box/pencil icon. 
    Your Query Name being the query loaded above in Step #2.



     

  9. When the Data Model Editor opens, locate the table containing the column you want to add the In List option to.
    For example, if you want to add an option to lookup State Codes on a Customer, locate the Customer Table (#A)





  10.  Then locate the column you wish to add the lookup too (#B).


  11. Then click on the Configure Default Editor button. The Value Editor screen will appear.





  12. Chose the Type option of Query (#D).


  13. Select the Query you wish to use as the Lookup (#E).


  14. Select a Display option (#F).


  15. Select a Value option (#G).


  16. Click Save & Close to exit the Value Editor screen.


  17. Click Save & Close again to exit the Data Model Editor screen.


  18. Click Close to exit the Data Model Listing screen.


  19. Now, when running your query, the option should now be a list.
