The flock's default egg type field is used to auto-populate the egg type on the egg production form.  Sometimes a flock will have more than one egg type.  The default egg type date table allows managers to plan expected egg type production in the future  and facilitate its data entry by changing default egg type based on date.

Default Egg Type Date Form

Live Inventory → Select Flock → Default Egg Type

Start Date: The start date is the date that the new egg type will take effect

End Date: If an end date is entered, the new egg type will end and if no other record will utilize the default egg type on the flock form again.  If no end date is entered, the flock will continue to utilize the new egg type entered until it reaches the next records start date or until an end date is entered..

Egg Type: The new egg type the system will populate as of the records start date.

The new egg type will populate in the egg production form and the batch form for egg production.

The new egg type will also populate in projection reports in the field EggHsePrj_EggType1Cd_PD.  Once the report periods continue beyond actual transactions, the calculation will attempt to use default egg type date table as a 'standard' using the period end date to find a match.  If it finds no matches, it will use the flock's default egg type, and if it finds none, it will leave the field blank.
