Connections

Use the Connection Designer screen to configure access to different databases within your organization.

Creating a New Connection

1. Access the Vision Main Menu.
    
2. Click the Tools / Settings  drop-down.
   
   
3. Select the Manage Data Models / Connections option.
   
   
4.  Click Manage Connections.
   
   
5.  Click New Connection.
   
   
6.  Specify a Name of the connection. For example: ERP
   
   
7.  Select a Type option. For example: Microsoft SQL Server
   
   
8. Specify a Connection String.
    
   Connection String sample formats are available here:
   1. SQL Server: http://www.connectionstrings.com/sql-server/
   2. Access: http://www.connectionstrings.com/access/ 
   3. Progress: http://www.connectionstrings.com/progress/
   4. Others: http://www.connectionstrings.com/ (Not all options are supported; please contact Customer Support for assistance)
      
      
9. Click Save & Close.
