Use the Data Model Designer screen to configure database schema configurations.

Creating a New Data Model

  1. Access the Vision Main Menu.
     
  2. Click the Tools / Settings  drop-down.

  3. Select the Manage Data Models / Connections option.

  4.  Click New Data Model.

  5.  Specify a Name of the Data Model. For example: Aeros ERP
      
  6. Optional: Specify a Description of the Data Model.

  7. Specify a Connection option. View Connections to create a new Connection.

  8.  Select a Type option. For example: XML
      
  9. Optional: If using an XML type and connecting to an Aeros ERP database, check the Include Extended checkbox. This will add the Item Extended Information fields to your Data Model if desired.

  10. Specify a Source/Command value.
    1. If the type is XML, specify the path of your pre-configured XML-based Data Model.
    2. If the type is View, specify the name of the View. For example: vwVMyCustomView
    3. If the type is Stored Procedure, specify the name of the Stored Procedure with it's required parameters. For example: spMyProcedure '01/01/2016'
       
  11. Click Retrieve. The system will attempt to load the XML/View/Stored Procedure text into the Model Text field.

  12. Do NOT modify the Model Text field. This is generated by clicking the Retrieve button. Overriding this text required advanced knowledge of system workings.

  13. Click Save & Close
