Using the Week-Ending Dates setup, users can set up the week ending dates for each year.  AIM is a date driven system, collecting transaction information on the actual date the transaction occurred.  Use of Week-Ending dates allows users to generate reports by week ending date, where data is accumulated and presented based on the calendars set in this section.  This tool is also useful for identifying fiscal year calendar data for synchronization with accounting systems.

Calendars are set at the system level for access across all companies, divisions, and farms.

  • Calendar Code: Create a code that corresponds to the Week-Ending Calendar. This code must be unique and is limited to 50 alphanumeric characters.  This is a required field.
  • Description: A description of the Week-Ending Calendar as desired.  This is a required field.
  • This is a Fiscal Calendar:  This check box indicates to the software that a calendar is designated as the fiscal calendar for the organization.
  • Default.  Check this box to set as the default calendar AIM will use for date driven functions.  For example, if any setting is set to "Week End" date in AIM, the software will refer to this selected calendar.  Depreciation Rules are a good example of where AIM will automatically utilize Week End Dates, when the apply period is set to "Week End"

List View

As shown above, the list view will display a row for every year configured in the calendar.  User will create a new calendar by clicking the green plus button  to display the Edit a Week-End Sequence.

In this form, a year of week end dates is configured.  Select the year, then select the first week ending date.  Once selected, the system will display what day of the week the year begins.

  1. First Week Days allows for a short first week of the year, for example, if the first week of the year is only counted to be 3 days, user would enter 3 in this field.
  2. The system will display the first date by counting back from the First Week-End date back the number of days set for First Week Days.
  3. User then keys the number of weeks the year will contain.  The software will validate to make sure no other entries for this Week Ending Date configuration overlap.
  4. Once the total number of weeks is keyed, the system displays the Last Week-End Date and the total number of weeks in the year.
  5. Click Accept to generate the configuration, and a new line item appears in the list view.

Once configured, user may edit the configuration at any time by clicking the edit button , or may remove a line item from the List View by clicking the minus button.
