Work Order and Feed Pricing Best Practices
Do
Review Ingredient Costs Before Running Work Orders
Aeros built a report that compares ingredient purchases with minimums and maximums over the last 30/60/90 to help identify records that may be priced inappropriately. The sooner these records are identified the better.
If an incorrectly priced record is used, it can throw off the work order price, which throws off the delivery price. It starts with the receiver price, and if it’s off everything must be rolled back which is very time consuming.
Do Not
Cancel a CONNECT Batch
As more and more records are being processed, these processes may take longer than expected, but they should complete. If they are not completing, please let Aeros know, and they will research and restart the service if needed.
If a work order batch is cancelled the inventory may already be used and could result in double inventory usage.
Delete a Priced Feed Delivery in LIVE
If a user deletes a delivery that has already been priced through CONNECT, the inventory will still be used in Aeros ERP.
If a delivery needs to be repriced or deleted, the feed pricing record in CONNECT should be reversed first and then reprocessed/deleted.
Perform multiple Physicals on the Same Day
Performing multiple physicals on the same day for the same inventory can result in discrepancies between available balance and the transaction register. The transaction register only shows one of the physicals and it may not be the effective physical that is calculated in the inventory balance.
Aeros is looking to support functionality with an update, but the current version does not support this in a consistent manner. If there are discrepancies between the report and the physical screen, the physical screen is the more accurate record.
Transfer Inventory Prior to the Receiver Date
The current Transfer screen in ERP allows you to transfer inventory to a date prior to the receiver date. This can result in negative inventory, and discrepancies in the physical screen and the transaction register.
Aeros is updating the Transfer screen to prevent a user from transferring the inventory prior to the receipt of the inventory.
